What They Wanted
The university needed a DJ for their spring event at Hyatt Regency Sydney with around 240 guests. Musically the brief spanned the decades, 70s/80s, 90s/00s, current hits and RnB/hip-hop, so they wanted an open-format DJ who could move between eras cleanly and keep everyone on the floor.
How We Planned It
Every booking gets its own event manager, and this one was no exception. We talked through the run sheet and the moments that mattered; liaised with Hyatt Regency Sydney on bump-in, power and finish times; and agreed a student-safe playlist and request process with staff, must-plays included. From our 75-strong team, the right DJ for the brief was assigned, and every detail was confirmed in the days beforehand.
What We Delivered
We arrived early and set up everything we bring as standard: full sound, lighting, wireless microphones and backup gear, all checked before doors opened. Our DJ mixed 70s/80s, 90s/00s, current hits and RnB/hip-hop into one seamless set, reading the room of around 240 guests and shifting eras as the energy called for it.
