What They Wanted
For a winter event at a Melbourne university campus venue, the organisers wanted the music student-friendly and the energy high for around 80 students. The ask was a dependable open-format DJ who could read the crowd, handle requests gracefully and keep the celebration moving right through to the finish.
How We Planned It
Every booking gets its own event manager, and this one was no exception. We talked through the run sheet and the moments that mattered; planned the setup, AV, power and finish times with the campus venue; and agreed a student-safe playlist and request process with staff, clean edits included. We matched the right DJ to the brief from our 75-strong team and locked everything in during the week of the event.
What We Delivered
We arrived early and set up everything we bring as standard: full sound, lighting, wireless microphones and backup gear, all sound-checked before doors. Our DJ read the room and built the set live, following the crowd of around 80 students from the first track and lifting the tempo as the winter night warmed up.
