There’s no denying, the magic cloud from a dry ice machine is now a must for the bridal waltz. It’s a simple and elegant addition and looks amazing when it comes to looking back at photos from your special day. We’ve compiled our top 3 tips to keep things running smoothly.

1. Turn The Aircon Off Five Minutes Before The First Dance

Why? Because the air pushes the smoke around and breaks up the thickness. The smoke needs to be uninterrupted in order to create a cloud effect. We suggest giving the venue manager a heads up prior to the event, but on the night works too as long as you give them some notice.

2. Clear The Dance Floor

The cake is normally cut before the first dance, and sometimes you’ll have children running around and people socialising. Before these formalities get underway, be sure to let everyone know to clear the dance floor. Most likely, the MC will announce what’s about to happen, and the venue staff will assist in moving the cake table and ushering guests off the dance floor. This is also important to allow the photographers and videographers room to work their craft.

3. Get an Aerial Shot

Speaking of photos and videos, in the lead up to your big day be sure to request aerial shots of your first dance. One of our favourite dry ice machine shots was taken from afar and above ground level (see below). Of course, this is not always going to be possible. However, we recommend to bring this up with your photographers/videographers as there are ways around this, like standing on a chair from a distance.

Dry Ice Machine Is a Must

This effect machine is a simple but significant addition to your big day. When you’re on the dance floor and the fog surrounds you, you’ll be dancing on a cloud. Now that’s heaven! And unforgettable.
