Rocking a Wedding; Star DJ Style

It’s absolutely no secret that the Star DJ team loves to rock weddings. As a DJ myself, it all starts with the initial conversations with the couple. From there, the fun starts with the planning. Being the professional and sharing our opinions and suggestions makes being part of it a whole lot more rewarding.

And then the big day comes…

And the rest of the fun kicks in!

Over the weekend, we had the absolute pleasure of being part of the celebrations for the marriage and wedding of Rachel and Louie. In the lead up, there was a lot of conversation about ensuring the DF was packed from start to finish. There was a focus on RNB, Hip-Hop, some traditional classics, and floorfillers. Being the go-to team for Sydney DJ hire, we were excited to be called into action!

Several conversations were had in the lead up, and once a timetable and agenda locked in, we finalised the music theme for the evening. We engaged in conversations with the MC and supporting entertainment – they too were super excited to be part of this. The guestlist had a confirmed 500 headcount; a big party ahead!

And then…

The big day came. We set up alongside an Arabic band in the beautiful (and recently renovated) Aria Wedding Venue. To be honest, it was our first time here, but can I tell you; it was both magestic, and massive!!! Having Enigma Entertainment on the grounds providing the sound was awesome – whenever an event seeks Sydney DJ hire, we’re frequently performing and working together. We were also blessed to have industry-superstar Michael on MC duties for the night. We discussed the agenda between us, and ran through a final check to ensure all details were correct. Shortly after, we completed a sound check to ensure all of the DJ equipment was working, and the sound clear for the DJ, MC and the live band.

Moments after this, the staff of Aria Wedding Venue ran projector and lighting test runs.

All was good, and it was time to prepare for the guests.

Nate, a Saxophonist from Cdarz Entertainment, arrived with excitement not long after. He too completed his standard checks. All was well, and it was time for him to head outside. Nate had the honour of playing to the guests upon arrival, whilst sipping on their cocktails. His music is awesome, and he’s definitely someone you should consider booking for your event!

The guests were let in shortly after, and it was time to begin playing some ambient background music. Not long after, Michael announced that the bridal party was arriving soon…

… and so the countdown begins…

The word to describe the mood at the time is definitely excitement. That’s what was in the air amongst the faces of all friends and family, pure excitement. Excitement for the event, and for what was to come for the couple…

… It was showtime!

The entrance was something we’ll remember for a while. It featured Nate on the Sax playing Drake’s ‘Hold On, We’re Going On’, with some members of the band joining in over the top, and Haifa from Eniga Entertainment on the Keytar. This team, coupled with the Sydney DJ team, Star DJs, paved the way for the showstopper entrance for the new Mr and Mrs.

After this, formalities of the event continued, including plenty of dancing. To cut it straight to the point, the entire guest list was up and dancing, from start to finish. Here’s a moment we captured with the bridal party and groom genuinely enjoying their night!

This recollection is what we experience weekly within the Star DJ Hire team.
