Choose a cake once you have decided your wedding theme
You want your cake to be appropriate and in theme. From the venue, dress, colour, to everything in between – your cake should “belong” to your wedding. Make sure that when you schedule your appointment with your cake master, be prepared to bring along some inspiration like photos of your wedding dress, photos of your theme, motif, etc.
Have a set budget
The cost of wedding cakes can vary depending on the height, frosting, complexity of Design, and so on. Make sure to have a budget in mind and stick to it. During cake tasting, you can easily be overwhelmed with all the sugar booze in your bloodstream, and end up ordering a cake that is beyond your budget.
Do some research about frosting
Fondant or Buttercream? Buttercream tastes great! But if you want to see a smooth and more detailed finish, opt for a fondant covered cake. Buttercream is best if your reception is indoor while fondant can hold up much better against the heat if you’re doing an outdoor wedding.
